I think that statement is a little too strong. I've gone over all the reviews as I was interested in getting some shocks for my car, especially since i just got two front replacement springs (as many of you know i somehow snapped an eibach spring). I've gone over all the reviews of the GR-2s on many different cars. So far, I see that people really like them on their cars when they have a setup that doesnt drop more than 1.5". Any more than that, and they say they are garbage, and are getting blown out quick.
KYB even states that they will hold the million mile warranty up to 1.5" of drop.
Now, theese aren't much of a performance upgrade. They will return some of the stock feel, where your ride isnt so springy/bouncy (well, i know mine is). At least, thats what users of these say.
EDIT: I looked around, and it looks like they are actually the excel-G version, not the GR-2. I think they are the same design, just one made in japan and one version made here using domestically available parts. People complain more about the Excel G's.
IE: save and get the BC Racings.
