Cool plan. I have never seen a twin turbo Pathfinder VQ35DE and would love to see it. What upgrades do you currently have in your car? What I do not like about nitrous its that I find it like cheating and when I have to keep refilling..miamiheat3332 wrote:In a year or 2, when i have the money, i might be looking into turboing / twin turboing the pathfinder, and matching up a 5 speed trans from another car and all, custom aluminum driveshaft, and buy the clutches and plates and make a superLSD for the rear. Thats my final goal for the pathfinder is to have it push 500hp, get a 5spd in there, but not the path 5spd;s, and keeping 4wd ability. What i may do which will probably make it easier, is switch out the whole engine and trans for another make/model engine.
But for now, in the coming months im probably going to put in a 75-100 wet shot nitrous kit in the path, they arent that expensive and provide alot of power ( probably around an extra 75hp and tq at the wheels when you spray it ) . Our paths can easily handle these without issues.
How does the power feel currently on your Path? Are you more into racing or offroad?miamiheat3332 wrote:So far its mainly suspension/handling based. If you see my sig pic, thats my friends new 2011 genesis 3.8 rspec, and he cant keep up with my pathfinder on corners. Its pretty funny considering its a 2dr coupe.
I have:
Full KYB suspension (GR-2 Struts, Gas-A-Just Shocks)
4x4Parts 2" lowering coils ( these coils are literally like track springs considering how the pathfinder handles ) i also have no body roll what so ever.
Front Control arm / frame brace
EBC 3GD Rotors, Ceramic Pads
Custom Intake
Thats mostly it performance wise i think if im not forgetting anything,
20" x 9" wide wheels all around (spring/summer/fall set) also helps with handling + braking having wider wheels and lower profile tires with a firm sidewall
Hankook Ventus RH07 265/45/20 Rubber on those
I still need to get camber bolts, even though my front is cambered pretty well already, im going to lay them on the sides a little more so it should help in handling, ( rear you cant camber cause its an axle )
Im also going to get swaybars for it once i find out they fit
The rest is mostly visual/sound system mods:
Full soundsystem (you can find the thread on it if your interested)
Clear corners, 10000k HID;s up top, 3000k in the fogs,
LED Daytime running lights ( in lower bumper )
People probably dont notice, but i have the black nissan roofrack front cover removed also.
White led's in gauge cluster
Full Synthetic fluids everywhere (engine, differentials, trans, etc)
Im saving up for an exhaust in the future, but this weekend im going to cut out my resonator and replace that part with exhaust piping, should free up a little power, and probably give it a better sound.
I think i got all of it.
Yeah I would never take my Path offroad eithermiamiheat3332 wrote:I never take my pathfinder offroad and i dont want to because i wouldnt want to mess up a nice suv. Im gonna get a ram 1500 or something and make that an offroad rig. 1 is i wouldnt give a crap about beating it, and 2 parts are alot cheaper.
Which is why where it is, it is now. And people sometimes ask whats the point of dropping an suv, doing suspension work to it etc.
Well for one it still retains all the suv ability i use for example the roof rack, i always use that if i get lumber, a ladder for example, etc. And in the winter i throw on my stock wheels with snow tires, it has 4wd if needed, and i still have alot of ground clearance compared to a car.
But in a nutshell, yeah it is setup for road/street performance.
I like to keep mine clean. No offroad at all. Just want to improve acceleration. Any ideas on an upgrade that I should try besides intake and exhaust?miamiheat3332 wrote:I wouldnt take mine mudding, or like through tough trails in a forest. But i wouldnt mind having 2 inch lift coils, and agressive a/t tires and wheels and go thru like baja and stuff if i lived in california.
I assume you've kept up with maintenance? Spark plugs (if close to or at replacement interval of 105k mi), fuel filter recent, air filter unrestricted, clean throttle body, fresh driveline fluids & grease? Just making sure.PathPro2002 wrote:I like to keep mine clean. No offroad at all. Just want to improve acceleration. Im looking to change spark plugs. Believe or not my Path has only 73k miles and I have never change plugs so maybe that will help. What is the best brand for spark plugs for performance on Path?I assume you've kept up with maintenance? OEM NGK PLFR5A-1.PathPro2002 wrote:Im looking to change spark plugs. Believe or not my Path has only 73k miles and I have never change plugs so maybe that will help. OEM? So, you think that works better than any AEM in your opinion?Towncivilian wrote:

The only other plugs I've used are Bosch plugs my father had put in before I got the car, performance seemed identical to the OEM NGKs I'm running now. I don't know if aftermarket plugs will really make much of a difference.PathPro2002 wrote:OEM? So, you think that works better than any AEM in your opinion?Towncivilian wrote:
