I want to put a performance muffler on my maxima but cant seem to find any info on what type to use. I dont want one that hangs down low and looks cheesy I want to keep the factory look but want a better sound and performance. If anyone has any thougts i would appreciate it.

Welcome to NICO!

Cattman offers the rear section for $350.

Click the pic if you want a larger view.

They also offer the cat back for $600

Great sound and performance!

the tips don't look too bad at all(my opinion tho)...they look very close to the stock exhaust tips ...so you are most likely not to be bothered by the poooolice

muffler: $350Mid-pipe: $275Y-pipe: $350

Either way works. If it comes with it, you're set. If it doesn't, the shop can fab up the necessary piping. Just depends on the muffler you go with.

Thanks for the input but I think I changed my mind I'm going with the catback exhaust, but not sure which one. Greedy or Catman I definatly dont want it to sound like a rice burner I want that american muscle sound but not too loud. Which one is best? Got any sound clips. Much appreciated

Not to offend anyone, but you can't get there without 8 cylinders, but that's my opinion...

The Cattman systems look nice and the tips are dead on for a nice looking car. If I was going to do one on mine, it would be the one to go with. If you bring a system into a shop, they will pretty much charge as they go to make it work, becasue it's not theirs to begin with, unless of course you know someone.....

If you are buying a catback system, why would you not install it yourself. A package deals come pretty much ready to go. Run the car up on a set of ramps and jack up the rear for clearance. I have done a couple on DSMs that the kids bought, just so happens that I am the dad with the greasy hands.--Mike
