If you are talking about those "modules" you see on ebay, they are just resistors that are availiable from electronic shops like Radio Shack. It is supposed to be installed across the terminals of the air temp sensor harness after you unplug it, fooling the ECU to think the intake air is cooler thus adding more fuel to the mixture. It's a scam to get a $5 return on a 10 cent investment. I've read another thread on this where someone tested the air temp sensor and they said the sensor has almost no resistance when hot and around 10k ohms when put into the freezer.
The ECU is supposed to compensate for the true air temp, so I wouldn't recommend this personally, but if you must do this, it's probably better to use a 1k-2k ohm resistor INLINE of one of the wires on the air temp sensor rather than just jumping across the unplugged harness. This way you'll always be just a little rich on the fuel, not full rich all the time.
Really, the only ones that work really well are the remapped ECU's and such.
