What Performance mods (anything not cosmetic) are safe to do to a non standard transmission? Does CVT/Automatic make a difference in this case?

Any You can put any mod on an auto or CVT and it would be just as safe as an MT. It's how you use those mods that determine how safe they are for the transmission. Autos are pretty strong these days. I have an intake, throttle body, and complete exhaust on my truck and it's an auto. It's survived 100k of burnouts and general pavement pounding.
