Ive noticed that when ive been driving my car performs fairly differently almost every time i drive it, even in the same day.

ie. i was driving to work this morning and it was kinda sluggish but on my way home about 9 hrs later it was very responsive and peppy...

anyone have this with theirs? or know why it could be doing this?

I would say because this morning you were wide awake, and realized you had a 2.5, so the sluggish makes sense.

Then on the way home, you were tired from work, and you started day dreaming...

Thats all I can imagine

Yeah, I've noticed it too and so has my fiance. The weather changes pretty rapidly here so that might be a part of it.

I have noticed this problem as well, sometimes my steering wheel turns real easy and then sometimes its real hard to turn.

I thought it was my transmission because the car downshifts randomly.

now keep in mind that this is just a theory....

i hear that your ECU learns and adapts to the way you drive such as how much gas you give it like if u like to always stomp on it. so do you notice you driving any differently to and from work?

i have noticed this myself but i notice it when i change my driving habit. for ex if i am just chillin and i feel like cruisin, slow accelerations and such, i notice the throttle response is a little slow and it doesnt have as mucch pep.then when i decide to have those quick take of from lights and gassin it thru the streets it gives me the get up and go when i need it.

i know the ecu does adapt to your type of driving but what i don't know is if it constantly changes to suit your "mood"

ItsEcko - i think i understand what you just said.

My coupe does the same thing. If i am not driving it hard and i try to accelerate then it does seem sluggish. But if i rev the gear properly the car seems like it has more pop.

Maybe it is because i am catching the gear ratios better, or it is the ECU thinking i want more power??? I totally feel the difference from when i stomp on it right away, to cruising and i stomp on it.

Im not talkin about goin from cruising to stompin it vs just floorin it from a light. Ill be driving to work and try to floor it to pass someone from a light when the lanes merge and it will be sluggish then. But later on that day on a diffferent drive ill do something similiar and itll be very responsive.

Yeah i get what your sayin about the ECU but it seems to "change" on different trips not neccessairly as much during the same trip. if im just cruisin come to a red light and try to floor it on green its still sluggish.

seems weird, but same with me, one trip it could be one way, the next trip it could be the next. lets say going to work in the morning i'm usually rushing over so i get that response i'm lookin for but on the way home i'm not in any rush so i just take it easy in rush hour traffic so i notice that it doesn't have that response anymore after a little bit of drivin easy.

it still could be weather affecting it also because its been cool in the morning here in houston but warms up a lot during the day. i just don't know about your weather!
