I'm looking to buy a 2007 Versa sedan, 6 speed. I live in upstate New York where we get ALOT of snow. I owned a Dodge Caliber with a cvt transmission and it was awful in the snow. Need some feedback on how the Versa handles in very snow conditions. Thanks!

I live in NH. we also get A LOT of snow. I've had my V since October so I drove all winter long last year and I had no troubles at all. I do a lot of highway driving 18 miles to work and back 5 days a week. I go over a bridge where there are always a lot of accidents in the winter and I don't recall ever fearing for my life in the car or anything I take it slow but I never felt like I was going to lose control of my car or anything. I myself was a lot more fearful driving my 98 Corolla and my 05 Sentra in the snow than I was in the Versa. as long as you take it easy you wont have any problems in the V. thats my take on snow and the V.

Heh, a single snowflake falls here in San Antonio and the whole city shuts down. it really is kind of funny to see all these people in the big SUV's here who dont know how to drive on ice. We had kind of an interesting winter here, and I know that the body shops in town were making some bucks for quite a while here.

My Versa was not too bad in the snow, except the one time we had a good amount (maybe 9 inches) and couldnt make it up the driveway (had a slight incline) but once it would get moving it seemed very stable in most snow conditions, and while driving the appropriate speeds for conditions.

I would think that if you invest in a set of snow tires or chains, you wouldn't have much to worry about.

The winter here in Seattle last year was pretty bad, and at least twice it snowed 8+ inches. Most of the time it snows an inch or two at most in the lowlands, and some years we don't have snow at all. Didn't have Max at the time, but there are several Versa owners on this board who might have.

There were accidents everywhere, and people had to abandon their cars when they got stuck. Let me tell you, when I got off work at 9:45 PM and didn't make it home until 7:30 AM, it was just physically and mentally exhausting. I was about ready to start getting out of my car and stabbing the stupid people I saw in the neck with a pencil, and trust me, I saw a lot of stupidity that night.

Where Brossen's from (Fabius), I've seen snow in mid October and mid May. Must get at least 15 feet a year up there. This will be my first winter with the Versa but from all I've read, especially from Quebec drivers, the Versa is good in snow.

I've had no problems in Ontario Canada with my hatchback in the snow, that being said, I was running 4 snow tires on it as well.

I recommend that if you buy a Versa to get ABS unless you have dealt with cars without ABS in the snow and overall. Mines without ABS and as long as you know how to use the brakes its actually quite fun without the ABS.

Hey, Krzysztof, I learned to drive in snow without ABS on Crescent Blvd in front of Glenbard West! Of course, with front wheel drive now I can't match the fun of doing donuts in the snow in West's parking lot to get used to controlling skids...

That's the same high school where I had my first experience doing donuts. (after getting kicked out of the parking lot of College of Dupage).

I grew up on Main near Oak and graduated from West in '71. The house I grew up in, which my dad designed and built 50 years ago has been replaced by a McMansion...
