I'm going to replace my spark plugs and coil packs and would like to know if there's any information on any performance parts that I'm a used to soup up my QX4 to make it better faster also I would like to know which type of shocks and struts are best for the QX4

Shouldn't there be more mods though? It is basically the same engine as in the Infiniti G35 and FX35. Aren't many performance parts interchangeable in reality, if not officially? Pathfinder parts don't fit officially, but in reality they do.

Both of those models are slow. What's your idea of "performance?"

There really aren't any cost-effective modifications that are going to give you a noticeable performance boost. You mentioned the other infiniti models as a comparison but here's the key performance difference between those models and the QX4: their gross vehicle weight is almost a ton lighter.

The engines used in those other cars are not exactly the same either.
Heads and intake manifolds are different, for starters.
ECM mapping would also be a concern if you start modding the engine. It might actually get worse.
To get any kind of significant performance boost for your QX4, (like a turbo kit for example) would be very costly,
and probably not worth the expense or time.

These aren't performance vehicles. They get the job done and aren't hugely under powered but you aren't going to get any major performance increase.

As for shocks/struts, just get something form autozone unless you are an offroader. If so then you know more than me about shocks.

Why are you replacing your coil packs?

If you have a 1998-2000 QX4 I can see how you would want more horsepower as they came with only 170 hp vs 240 hp for the 2001 and up...

I am the son of a marine corp lifer and if I was taught anything by my father it was do it right do it once. So my qx4 is misfiring after a teenager took it on a trip to who knows where. My smooth riding kinda quick infinti was gone and so im gonna dump my tax return into it and try fo some mild performance. Not going to winternationals. Also the suspension is lacking from a prior accident that had the motormount apart and stacked on top of the static piece that bolts to the frame. They hit the side flush on something very hard. Picked it up for 500 bucks and allready got my money's worth. So im thinking add some hp and put a roll bar In it. And let the kids learn to of road in it.

There are so many options for the engine tuning tool my friend has that I had to ask for advice before I decide

About the best you're going to be able to do for your QX4 is get it back into factory spec. and cure the misfire issue. As mentioned in the previous responses in this thread there really aren't any performance enhancements you can do that will give you a significant bump in HP, AND don't cost more than the value of the entire vehicle.
