Hello Guys,

I'm looking to add some performance to my 2012 altima coupe. What do you suggest?

Honestly there isn't too much that you can do for a 2.5

Engine:

1. Cat-back exhaust
2. Short-ram intake (there is no cold air available)
3. Lightweight crank pulley (under-drive available only for 3.5)
4. Header

Suspension:
1. Rear sway bar
2. Front strut bar
3. Coil-overs/springs

I probably missed a few things. Use the search button to further research a particular mod.

2. Short-ram intake
3. Lightweight crank pulley-what does this do?
4. Header-what is this?

Suspension:
1. Rear sway bar
2. Front strut bar
3. Coil-overs/springs

So what will each do rear sway bar, front strut bar coil overs etc I don't want the car lowered for sure will this improve handling?

Exhaust:
1. Cat-back exhaust Improves airflow, freeing up horsepower.
2. Short-ram intake supposedly gives a small horsepower gain and some have said improved throttle response, but I didn't feel much of either. It sounds sexy though!
3. Lightweight crank pulley engine will rev faster and you will feel an improvement on your acceleration
4. Header improves airflow, freeing up horsepower

Suspension:
1. Rear sway bar stiffens up your suspension, decreasing body roll through corners
2. Front strut bar stiffens up your chassis, helps with cornering responsiveness
3. Coil-overs/springs can potentially lower your car if set lower than OEM height, improves cornering and responsiveness

Honestly, if you don't know what any of those things are then you probably shouldn't be modifying your coupe unless you are indeed seriously wanting to learn more about car modification.

I've read that light weight crank for the 2.5 doesn't really do much. Now it may if you tune your car, and by tuning it you may get away with doing so without getting the BD Tuner.

I have an exhaust and takeda intake and honestly it didn't do too much in the way of performance gains. Sounds excellent though.

I have been gauging the Sprint Booster, which does not gain any HP, but it helps accelerate much quicker at WOT (wide open throttle).

But in all honesty, you got a 2.5. Probably shouldve researched the car in terms of performance, that way you could've gotten a 3.5 or something else performance worthy.

I have the stillen crank pulley on my 3.5 and in all honesty, I didn't feel any difference in acceleration after the install.

I also have the crank pulley, it doesn't add HP but frees it up in reducing drivetrain loss. The cars rpm feels like it gets up quicker mainly.

The stock one weighs a ton so I see how it can make a difference.

As far as the 2.5, I defer to what mikethemike said.

Well thanks for the feedback. I have been doing research on each potential mod products. Looking forward to some results. Each car takes on the personality of its driver so I'm aware people are going to do different things.

Do not get an intake unless you want it just for the noise. It has been proven they don't work.

Anyone know if Stillen offers a warranty on their pulley belts? Mine is squeaking and I have a feeling it's only going to get worse as the weather gets colder. Can I buy any generic belt or should I stick with Stillen's?

Best place for an answer would be to call Stillen and find out if they have any mileage warranty on that belt. Otherwise buy another Stillen belt IF a genuine Nissan belt is not a useable option. Is there a reason why you went with a Stillen pulley, or cannot use a Nissan OEM one? If not, OEM is not a bad idea and will probably outlast most aftermarket ones...

I asked around about which mods would improve power/acceleration and a lot of peeps recommended the lightweight pulley so I went ahead and bought one. Thanks for the advice!

Sorry I didn't phrase it right, I meant to if there was a reason you need the Stillen BELT? I'm guessing it either just came as a replacement with their pulley due to size differences, or they include it as a preventative replacement/maintenance since the old one has to come off for the pulley upgrade anyway.

I dont really agree with this statement. The 3.5 has way more aftermarket support than the 2.5 yes. But with a little reserch and know how you can really build a nice 2.5 coupe. Just read A LOT. No boost necessary
