If you make and sell eyelids, yes. The contracts are tailored to the size of business, so keeping it fair for a small scale op is not a problem. Email AZhitman if you want to just get an idea of the process.Clipsed wrote:Hey EV question for ya, would I need to become a site sponsor if I wanted to make and sell fiberglass eyelids for the V? I still have the extra set of headlights laying here in my house, thinking wtf I am going to do with them, sell them or what not.
I have e-mailed him on being able to sell things before, twice as a matter of a fact, but got no response, so I gave up. Not a big deal though, as it probably is not worth it considering how little profit I would be making.Ever Victorious wrote:If you make and sell eyelids, yes. If you didn't want to do that, but just wanted to sell off your spare headlights, you wouldn't need a contract to do that (one person selling a couple of their spare parts is not a concern, it's when people that have their own personal junkyards do that where it becomes a problem)
HAHAHA now you probably know my pain, I had 3 headlights, and ruined one, but learned what a PITA it is to take the lenses off, but when I did get it off when I was doing my project, I was going to reseal it with butyl that way if I ever need to open em again, then I could just put er in the oven and it would pop off. But I would not take my time to do that again without a profit of doing it, which my profit would have been having one off bi-xenon HID projectors in my headlights!KimberKenobi wrote:Hell, I'd probably buy them if you'd take the lenses off first ;oD
What if it is ? Personnally, I like the look of it, and enjoying your own car is part of the experience. If I had his knowledge, I would probably do something like that to give my interior a sportier look. Not to mention that it does have a meaningful use.pingflood wrote:is not much more than a pretty shiny lightshow.
For the actual radiator hose you need the 34mm adaptor and you can buy it off of ebay. The adaptor has a pretty standard 1/8" hole for the sender unit. So you should be able to buy any gauge you want just check the sender size to make sure it will fit.jfanaselle wrote:Hey weems... looks awesome man! Since the day I brought my V home I've been thinking of putting a water temp gauge in it. I can't stand having only an idiot light to tell me that my car is already broken. I can see that you're having to install a small piece in the hose than can accept the sender. My question is, are all senders the same size? Should I buy a gauge before I buy something like what you found? I plan on moulding a gauge or two into the a-pillar. Clipsed, with your expert fiberglass advice, how should I refinish the a-pillar after adding a fiberblass pod to it? Should I just paint it? Oh yeah, and btw, I know it's off topic but I'm getting close to finishing that fiberglass 10" box and amp rack I'm making.
If you drained some or all of the coolant to install you may have caused a air pocket. Try bleeding the system out more and see if the problem goes awayweems84 wrote:alright, so i had a very difficult time trying to hook up the water temp gauge. Everyone told look for a dummy bolt near the water pump/ thermostat or on the radiator. Problem, they dont put dummy bolts on new cars anymore so i have no where to install the sensor. After alot of searching found an item on ebay that will work.
Our car uses a 34mm size adapter and it was a simple cut aan inch of the factory hose out and put this in place.
Only problem I'm having is whenever i brake to a stop and sometimes when i go in reverse the temp goes down to about 100F and then once i stop my action it goes back to the temp before So will check wiring again tommorow.
The upper hose is where the adaptor is connected.jfanaselle wrote:ok, so this may sound like a stupid question weems, but does the sender go on the upper or lower hose? I'm assuming the upper hose (is the upper hose the return hose?) because obviously that's when the coolant comes out of the motor hot.
I never grounded the adaptor so i was getting random readings and then none. Once i ground the unit to the chasis it worked fine.law wrote:
