I was looking into putting a triple gauge cluster where the storage box is above the stereo. I found some on flea bay and other web pages. I don't know if any will fit since the measurements are off just a tad. heres a link to what the panel looks like.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

My measure came out 7 1/8" x 2 1/2"

May custom make one if i have to or buy and modify.

Any thoughts/opinions??

I'm thinking an air/fuel mixture, temp gauge(since versa doesn't have one), and probably just stick a oil pressure or temp in their for now. Once theres a production turbo or a supercharger out i'll shove a boost gauge in there.

are you trying to get rid of our Clipsed?!?

I'd be terribly sad to see him go. Maybe he could build a fiberglass V on the side

Lol... Hmm... it would be funny if he did become a site sponsor, selling fiberglass Nissan replicas.

And it was an Altima, not a Sentra. Clipsed has better taste than to buy a Sentra.

So this is what i have so far. This is the most rigged up thing ever just because i could not find the right size holders online. I made this out of my trash can in my room some new paint and alot of silicon. Got the air/fuel gauge in so far but don't know where the O2 sensor is to tap.

Anyone know where the O2 sensor is???

hahaha, yea fiberglass is just about everything for me. I actually just tossed out my old fiberglass kick panels I had made for my old car, as I am going to redo all 4 door panels in the car and add speaker pods to them. But that is not until after I rebuild the engine.

Fiberglass V FTW! hahaha, maybe I could take the body off of the chassis I have and throw a Fiberglass V body on her!

Hey EV question for ya, would I need to become a site sponsor if I wanted to make and sell fiberglass eyelids for the V? I still have the extra set of headlights laying here in my house, thinking wtf I am going to do with them, sell them or what not.

WEEMS as for your pod, it looks sharp, but why not angle it out at the top a lil more to sit straight, and angle it towards you. take the gauge with you to your local hardware store and pick up some PVC that it fits nicely in, and you can use that to get a nice sitting cluster. It will look funnywith the tubing, but throw on a little bit of kitty hair, and some bondo, sand it down smooth like a babies butt, and paint that SOB, and that will be one sharp looking pod!!!

If you make and sell eyelids, yes. The contracts are tailored to the size of business, so keeping it fair for a small scale op is not a problem. Email AZhitman if you want to just get an idea of the process.

If you didn't want to do that, but just wanted to sell off your spare headlights, you wouldn't need a contract to do that (one person selling a couple of their spare parts is not a concern, it's when people that have their own personal junkyards do that where it becomes a problem)

I have e-mailed him on being able to sell things before, twice as a matter of a fact, but got no response, so I gave up. Not a big deal though, as it probably is not worth it considering how little profit I would be making.

HAHAHA now you probably know my pain, I had 3 headlights, and ruined one, but learned what a PITA it is to take the lenses off, but when I did get it off when I was doing my project, I was going to reseal it with butyl that way if I ever need to open em again, then I could just put er in the oven and it would pop off. But I would not take my time to do that again without a profit of doing it, which my profit would have been having one off bi-xenon HID projectors in my headlights!

Weems those gauges look awesome! but those would look killer if mounted how I explained! So do they work? VIDEO TIME!

Ok so i worked on it some more tonight. Got all the wiring done except for the sensor for the water temp and the wire tap for the O2 sensor. Reason being my hood does not open and neither does my gas door. I think they broke em when i took it in for the TPMS. I noticed the next day niether worked. Taking it tommorow to the dealer so should have some short video for ya clipsed.

alright the air/fuel ratio finally is up and running now. The O2 senso is underneath on the car on the exhaust piping right before the bell looking thing. I anyone else does this the BLACK wire is the signal to tap for this type of gauge. I will post some video after i get the water temp working as well.

alright, so i had a very difficult time trying to hook up the water temp gauge. Everyone told look for a dummy bolt near the water pump/ thermostat or on the radiator. Problem, they dont put dummy bolts on new cars anymore so i have no where to install the sensor. After alot of searching found an item on ebay that will work.

Our car uses a 34mm size adapter and it was a simple cut aan inch of the factory hose out and put this in place.

Only problem I'm having is whenever i brake to a stop and sometimes when i go in reverse the temp goes down to about 100F and then once i stop my action it goes back to the temp before So will check wiring again tommorow.

To all this topic, I can only say one word (which is actually two words): HOWTO It looks like an awesome mod and if someone could get the measurements and location of the sensors with pictures, it would be great !

Not to p*ss on your parade, but an a/f gauge with a narrowband sensor is not much more than a pretty shiny lightshow. Also, it is virtually worthless in the first place on a stock n/a engine...

I've had an A/F gauge & a voltmeter in my V for months now.Along with the repositioning of the MAF sensor, you can really tell the diffbetween crap gas and good gas & If & when I throw a fuel additive in the tank...

What if it is ? Personnally, I like the look of it, and enjoying your own car is part of the experience. If I had his knowledge, I would probably do something like that to give my interior a sportier look. Not to mention that it does have a meaningful use.

How do you wire up these gauges? They look pretty awesome

Ie. Where are the sensors located for the A/F, Voltimeter and (third gauge here)?

Hey weems... looks awesome man! Since the day I brought my V home I've been thinking of putting a water temp gauge in it. I can't stand having only an idiot light to tell me that my car is already broken. I can see that you're having to install a small piece in the hose than can accept the sender. My question is, are all senders the same size? Should I buy a gauge before I buy something like what you found? I plan on moulding a gauge or two into the a-pillar. Clipsed, with your expert fiberglass advice, how should I refinish the a-pillar after adding a fiberblass pod to it? Should I just paint it? Oh yeah, and btw, I know it's off topic but I'm getting close to finishing that fiberglass 10" box and amp rack I'm making.

For the actual radiator hose you need the 34mm adaptor and you can buy it off of ebay. The adaptor has a pretty standard 1/8" hole for the sender unit. So you should be able to buy any gauge you want just check the sender size to make sure it will fit.

If you drained some or all of the coolant to install you may have caused a air pocket. Try bleeding the system out more and see if the problem goes away

ok, so this may sound like a stupid question weems, but does the sender go on the upper or lower hose? I'm assuming the upper hose (is the upper hose the return hose?) because obviously that's when the coolant comes out of the motor hot.

The upper hose is where the adaptor is connected.

I never grounded the adaptor so i was getting random readings and then none. Once i ground the unit to the chasis it worked fine.
