Ok, I have always been under the impression that all bosch style fuel injectors were interchangable save for the different "sizes" they come in. For example, I have taken an injector from ford escort and put it in a crown victoria (yes I know that the capacity is too small for the crown vic. but I was told to do it anyways). So my question is, if somebody wanted to upgrade injectors and save money couldnt they just get some universal injectors or some from a V8 car with higher capacities ? One must keep in mind that they need to be high impedence injectors to be compatible with a stock ecm, but still you could save a lot of money if this assumption is correct. I am going to eventually need to upgrade my injectors and $450 for a set of four seems to be the average cost. That is just way too much for me especially when you can get some for a V8 car for a little over $200.

P.S. what is a good injector flow rate for a N/A motor with an upgraded ecu, cam, 9.5 to 1 pistons, and exhaust ?

Not sure if you can swap Bosch or american style injectors in a japanese car, but hey why not give it a try. Tell us if it works.

Also, stock 260cc would be more than adequate for your N/A motor.

Well, I think that the only question would be fit and connector compatability (which connectors could be changed easily) I guess that the easiest way to tell is measure the resistance to see if it is the same as stock and see if they fit. I would like to see if anybody has done this or knows that it would work. As far as bosch or "american" style injectors goes, pretty much all american multi port cars up until about the 2000 model year (and probably lots of other cars too) used bosch style "universal" injectors (keep in mind that the flow rates are different for various engines). I am just unsure if japanese cars did that too, but they do appear to be the same. The cost difference is amazing though, you can buy accel high flow injectors up to about 550cc for about $40 each through summit racing or jegs. That's a whopping $120 for a set of 4 compared to $450. So you can see why I am exploring this possibility.
