It depends. How much power are you making? Are your stock coils getting old and tired? If you can get them for cheap you might want to consider it. They don't exactly grow on trees, so you probably won't have the opportunity again.

i personally like the coilpacks better than plug and wires like most convert too...theres less resistance and a shorter distance for the spark to travel and just seems like it performs better, but isn't as cheap and might not be as reliable?

coil packs were designed FOR reliability. As you can have one go out and still drive. when a dizzy goes out.......... you are stuck where every you are.

they seem to be pretty cheap to me I have 4 or 5 sets in storage, and to think 4= anywhere from 25-100 bucks(depending on when and where I got them)....... 1 dizzy goes for 25, but I cant drive ANYWHERE w/o it.

OP, you won't gain anything with them on a stock motor. When you start making more power, the stock coils will, at some point, not be up to the task anymore and will need upgraded.

If you have high HP goals (350+?) I'd get them. Otherwise, save your money and spend it one something else.

350whp +.... im sure they can handle more than that.

there is a similar thread on sxoc.com right now where 1.8 bar on stock coils was noted.

we carry a set for the CA18 that are very similar as the Spit Fire model but very available and affordable... for $300

A R34 running these coil have cranked out over 660awhp on them without any issues of spark blowing out. So they stand the test for performance, and they use a better isolator on the coil and boot than OEM so they are just as reliable as they perform.

If anyone is in need of a set, I'll hook it up :D

Or check out Okada's

http://www.okadaprojects.com/u...t.htm

(one's from the skyline work)(special order, and just let them know you only need 4 instead of 6, and then the price should be similar to the SR's).
