I recently bought a 04 g35, 3.5 v6 RWD of course, already had custom air intake on it, eventually getting new exhaust and I was thinking about getting a performance chip to get some extra hp and torque. Just wanted to get some thoughts and hear some of the negatives of getting a chip.

I'm not entirely familiar with the tuning options for the G, but from what I remember, UpRev was the way to go. Looks like its about $550, plus the cost of having someone really tune it for you.

UpRev is what most are using, but, there are other options like Hyper Tech Max Energy, Bully Dog, and a few others. If you want to maximize what you have a custom tune would be the way to go once you get all your bolt-on's added.

I just got a performance chip for my 2009 maxima from a company called powertune. I was not expecting much when I bought it and it's just ok, no crazy increase in HP but it does give it more pep. If you want a little more kick then I'd recommend it but don't expect to gain a ton of hp. The company also put together reviews on their site from customers. Some just talking about it and some doing 0-60 tests with and without it. powertune performance chip
