that makes no sense the tunes will not be compatible once you slam the turbo on.Also you get what you pay for when it comes to chips. You could go full standalone for about the same price.

it does make sense. i dont want to spend to much because i know ill just be taking it off when i start to put together the turbo. just wondering what is a good priced chip for the KA motor and where to buy it. maybe its just better not to buy one at all and just wait till i get the turbo parts together. thanks.

If you have access to an EPROM burner, you can make your own fuel & timing maps, among various other things.

the reason I say it makes no sense is bc, turbo tune is different than N/A tune. Do like corn said get an eprom burner and change setup when turbo time comes, and have plenty learning time while not boosting.

The s14 ecus dont have a whole lot of options at this point, but there are some promising endeavors currently in the works.

As far as a basic eprom board, the closest solution would be the GRID multiboard with the R34 connection slighly reconfigured for the S14 ka. There has been talk of a basic eprom board being created specifically for these ecus in the US but nothing yet that I know of.

Bikirom supports these ecus though as well, something to look into although software and upgrade support seems a little limited/slow.

There is a real time editable solution in the works called Erich's Tuner. It is a nissan ecu-specific emulator board that fits into the ecu case like a bikirom, but allows tuning in real time instead of only key-on/engine off updates. The designer is looking to support the early model S14 ka ecus.
