Looking for advice on a performance chip for 2006 M45 sport. What brand, what improvements have you seen. Looking for some real advise for people who have already done this to a M45. Thanks Sam

No good chips out there. Get an Uprev tune. Just check the site for a local shop with it. You get maps for different driving controlled through your cruise buttons. Should be able to be done for 500-800 depending on the shop and cost of living where you are

Hills garage might be the closest one to you which is up here in Baltimore. It might be worth the trip though since he's very good at what he does. I got mine tuned in VA a while back but that shop closed down. If you really want some info about it check out their site, they also are very good at answering any questions you might have over the phone. I know a stock M gained 20/20 which is pretty good considering how much you're paying for the extra power.

A stock M got 20HP with just the uprev and nothing else? If that's the case I'm getting it tomorrow. I've heard here that you are looking at no better than 12HP and that's with extra crap you got to buy. Where did this person get his done. And does that 20HP kick in at high rpm, or from jump?

...I'm assuming 20/20 means 20HP.

20HP, 20TQ

And not ALL cars will get that, it will be different based on the skill of the person performing the tune, the quality of your gas, what mods you have, etc. There was one guy here who gained something like 30HP with a tune, and another guy who had similar mods that only gained 1HP (both on M45's). They were in different states and went to different people, but it just shows the range of what could happen. The thing is that also the tune makes the throttle response much better, and helps with your MPG a little bit. And the different profiles you can select on the fly are a good bonus. Most people make profiles for different octane levels, but you can do all sorts of stuff.

Mexillis, didnt you get a 30/30 gain? is it really worth the money? and for an M45 cant you get more HP out of these monsters? or thats the best one can get. I talked to another tuner in Richmond, and hes been asked to get uprev tech from different infiniti/nissan owners and he might work with me on the price but can i trust any tuner or just follow the uprev dealers website you posted.

Depending on how much money you spend, you can get lots and lots of HP out of these cars. Someone with an M35 did a complete rebuild and overhaul as well as some forced induction and was running 2,000 rwhp. UpRev is the best way to get the car tuned and running perfect for whatever setup you are running, they have 100% control over the ECU. Petrol engines just dont gain much with each modification, diesel on the other hand is very easy to get big gains on. If you want big time gains with these engines, then you need to get some forced induction. With custom exhaust, intake, and tune at best you will probably only gain 50HP over stock.

Well right now. I have injen CAI and full Megan racing exhaust on. Looking for over 30/30 in my opinion. Looking to get 395 torque like someone posted on a different uprev post. And close to 300 in horsepower.

I did gain 30/30 but I wouldn't expect you to gain the same. Every car is different along with the tuner and dyno. Different temps will also play a role. If you want the most power out of your car you need to get a full exhaust and get rid of your cats and get some headers made up. Even all that probly won't gain you 50 hp to the wheels. The cheapest way for you to gain a lot is hook up the nitrous bottle and get it tuned with that.

yes and yes, I ran a 13.5 qtr mile which isnt bad considering the new M56 runs 13.4 with 420hp/tq at the fly.

An uprev tune is definitely worth the money.
