How do you like the Stillen intake? I've been thinking about replacing the intake on my J, but haven't made up my mind yet.

You can get the same affect by cutting the bottom half of your stock air box off. The stock intake has a venturi tube and everything. I did that to mine and loved the sound but that sound is now drowned out by the exhaust.

Congrats on the KS. I bet you feel like you have a new car.

Don't forget to flush the transmission/new filter, drain/refill rear diff, flush radiator/coolant, bleed brakes/new fluid, drain/refill power steering fluid, replace pcv valves, and clean the egr tubes if you havesn't already done these.

[QUOTE=nkawall]btw where do the speed limiters kick in on the j'sQUOTE]

I'd like to know this one as well. I don't trust the tires that are on there to find out on my own (they're in good shape, just don't want to push it). And, I'm on deferred adjudication for a traffic ticket, so I can't get pulled over til May

OBD1's dont have a limiter that I know of....I've had mine to around 140 -145 mph racing an NSX once.

OBD2's are supposed to have one but I'm unsure of what it is...

How bad did you lose that race...?Nice work, OP. It's always a good feeling to get something done to the car. I have a fresh brake job as of yesterday. They said all 4 pads were under 1mm. Whoops.

In the J? Now that's just silly.

How many miles did it take you to catch back up once he let off? lol

surprisingly it wasnt too bad...older 1st gen's only have us by about 60 hpand about 14 lbft of torque..they were rated @ 270 hp and 210 lb/ft torque with 13.5 1/4's ...yes about 3 secs faster but, when you're already going 80 ...it's not like you're leaving from a standing stop

he was toying with me up to about 140 and at that point I heard a "psssst" and he pulled out of sight...at that point I just let off and stuck the cruise back on.

That was the NSX whispering, "Pssst...you're not a sports car."

Where did you find the instructions on where and how to relocate the knock sensor. Mine causes the engine light to come on sporadically, no effect on power or driving, but I figure it's just a matter of time.I bought my J30 3 weeks ago and I really like it, now that I have everything but the engine trouble light and the front passenger door actuator fixed.

Thanks

Heinz

If you heard "pssst" then he had a few more than 270.

And 3 seconds faster is an eternity.

yeah, yeah, yeah...but up til that pssst...he didnt have more that 270....

I never did say I got past him...nor even beside him...

I got about a car length behind him enough to let me read that it wasnt stock, and that's about as close as I got and he made sure to embarass me from there...lol

mainly the J was still Mom's at the time and I was seeing what it could do.. also that was about 7 years ago...I was much younger in my driving err stupidity..lol
