I got in an accident in my 240 a few months ago and its still in my backyard covered in tarps. I just got the idea of maybe importing a CA18 front clip. What do you think?

Yep. That is a S13. The CA will sure bolt right in there. There is not a more perfect car for the clip to be bought for...You know. Considering that the motor was designed to go in the car. So in answer to your question: Yes, your car is in fact perfect for a CA!

I guess that my Question's should have been "Do you think with the whole front clip i could have the car running and fixed from its smashed up state?" and "Would the front clip have body panels intact?" "Is it a waist of time to continue with this car with its damage?"

Sorry for not being specific...

thanks-Max

I gotta say it.

I hope your not planning on using just insurance money for the swap, cause i dont think that the damage would cost mush to fix.

You need a new upper tie bar and a bumper (duh for the bumper). I dont see where there is any other damage 'cept maybe the radiator which i cant see well enough in that picture...

edit: you need a little pull on the drivers side frame too, that might be all-together about $800 max to fix if you put the new panels, hood & bumper on yourself and get a shop to do all the welding and pulling.

Yeah that picture is not very good, heres another one.

As you can see the radiator support pushed the radiator and fan shroud back a little. The radiator is no good and the water pump might be bad too... I'm not so concerned about the KA at this point since I want to order the new CA clip i was hoping it would have almost everything on that to fix the damage.

make sure you don't get a wrecked clip... alot of them are of light hits like yours.

From my experience, once a uni-body has been wrecked, it's never the same again. I'm sure that you could get it back to decent again and it would look OK, but it's gonna be more work than you think. I think it'll be closer to $1500 to fix that.

I am going to take it to some kind of frame shop before I order the clip. to see if its worth repairing.

Well im totally serious about the cost here, since i kinda do it for one of my jobs.

The upper tie bar work itsself is < $200 +$200 for the welding, rack pull, and panels, paint optional. You could get it there with paint i guess. But i wouldnt care about paint just yet anyway.

That doesnt sound too bad, I mainly just wanted to know if it was worth my time and money to try to fix this. Or if its smarter just to buy another shell and drop the CA in there.

Can I be a jerk and ask if you'll sell me your Throttle body and throttle cable?

I'd get another shell and drop the CA in that if it was me...

Hes probably right, but i had my frame pulled out (a little less than you need) and i didnt notice any difference in handling. It seemed just as cherry as before.
