I'm in need of a new clutch. Would an OEM clutch work out for me? I don't plan on doing any mods, just maybe bolt ons (intake, exhaust). How would the OEM clutch fare? if not any suggestions on a better clutcH? ACT, Centerforce, SPEC.

(i did search, all the posts i found were for racing clutches and non streetable clutches.)

ACT makes a great Street clutch for the 240...

centerforce makes "good" product, although i dont recommend them for i have had bad experiences....

OEM would probrobly fair you very well considering just bolt on mods, it will have good engagement, and life, but if you want something special, go with the ACT street / strip clutch

thanks for the reply. Is there a specific model name for the ACT? or is it just called "ACT strip/street clutch" ?

also, the clutches that pep boys, kragen, autozone etc carries are the same as OEM right? or wrong?

I think it would be ACT Stages.

Stage 1 = better than OEMStage 2 = StreetStage 3 = Street/trackStage 4 = TrackStage 5 = Full drag

Correct me if I'm wrong. If I were you, I would just get the stage 1, but if you are getting a new clutch for your SR20, get a stage 3. Like you said, you just want an OEM like clutch, therefor, just get the stage 1.

Clutchmasters also make different stages of clutchs that have been highly recommended by many draggers...

I think the OEM one is gonna be slightly better than pepboys or autozone. I put an autozone clutch in my 210 and ended up replacing it again in a year. The good thing is about autozone is it is lifetime warranty on clutches, but you still have to take it off to take it back!

I'd go with ACT stage I or something. It will feel similar to stock and be better.

Get a Cluthmaster's stage II clutch... 70% more holding power then oem... very reliable, but engagement isn't harsh...

Or search http://www.se-r-list.org/archives for "clutchbastards" and you might lean towards the ACT ;)

Um..... yeah it will

There's too many comlaints on there to even begin to tell you about. Try that link again, you don't have to sign up for anything. In the search it already says "owner-se-r-reflective" but that is to limit the search. Just add onto that "clutchbastards".
