Ive got an idea for N/A KA's :im moving the battery to the trunk anyway for another project I'm going to have going on, and i need to move the intake out of the way as well, so I thought about moving the intake filter down to the passanger side opening in the bumper, just to the side of my fog light, making sort of a cold air/short ram at the same time intake. The only thing I'm wondering is exactly how the intake pipe would have to be routed and how the radiator hose could be repositioned? I plan on having a shop bend the pipe to fit (or finding some kind of plastic hose to fit) but could anybody give me pictures (from KA-T's) of how the pipe after the intercooler comes back into the intake mani? Ive been looking but most are shots from standing in front of the car with the hood open. it would be greatly appreciated

Here's the pics of my cold pipe.

The aluminum piping is actually in contact with the radiator hose. Temps stay ambient as long as the engine is running. If i stop the car and let it sit for awhile it will reach maybe 95* intake temp.

dont worry, I moved it.

BTW... turbo side is the driverside, not the passenger. If theres gonna be routing of a filter, it'll be that side of the car.

Sorry i should have explained the pictures better. That is the factory radiator hose.My intercooler piping there is composed of three 90* pieces. The first one as you can see comes out from the TB, then runs over top of the radiator hose. The next one just swings down through the battery tray. And the other piece actually runs into my intercooler.

There's probably better ways to route it, but it works fine for me.

Hey krazydriver, just a quick q, why are you venting your BOV? Do you not have to reroute it back into the intake when going KA-T? On my eclipse if I vented it wouldn't even idle and ran like crap, and it used a MAS like the KA does, or am I wrong? To the OP, as long as you can get your MAS and wires to fit, I don't see why you can't move the intake anywhere you want to.

yeah.... I'm a nutty DIYer so I run megasquirt, which means i'm running a MAP system not the factory MAF. Meaning i can vent ALL NIGHT LONG!!

Is it different with an S14? on mine the radiator hose is pretty high up and it seemed to me the only way to run piping would be under it (without lengthening it)...it might have been a new hose put in by the previous owner though?

my cold pipe runs under the radiator hose and it touches also...IIRC, a 90 degree bend is all I needed to run the cold pipe to the intake manifold and through the battery tray.old pic, but still the same for the most part cept it's cleaner now
