For everyone here with a custom exhaust or some sort of exhaust work, im assuming most of you ripped out the resonator while you were getting it done / doing it.

If someone could post pics of how the piping was done in place of the resonator.

As of now im not doing my full exhaust yet, but i wanted to cut out the resonator and put a Y pipe in there, i think it should work fine, but im curious as to what others have setup and if its the same way.

Thanks.

what do you mean by the resonator? you mean the big drum that combines the two exhaust pipes into one?

Yup thats it. Its suppost to muffle sound and it probably restricts the flow too.

I did not now rip it out. My stock ones were leaking and the muffler shop guy recommended that I changed them to some high flow ones which I did.

I have full dual in single out all the way from cats, basically they just do straight piping into a dual in muffler (2.25 piping) to 2.5 out.

Increased response better sound thats all ive noticed with minor mpg improvements but barely noticed.
