well kinda.. the side of my car is all fugged up, i was waiting to turn left out of a gas station and the guy was at teh pump, he pulled forward (i dont know how he could possably not see me) and ramed the side of my car, it was an older IROC or whatever its called... then he told me he didnt have insurance (i dunno why) so i told the cop dispature that, so when the cops came they asked him for insurace and then he majicly had it.. but sence it was in a parking lot the cops couldnt do anything.. also the guy is "self inshured" whatever that means, sooo now i have a banged up car, wich was one of the best looking S13's aroudn here.. its just one thing after anotehr... also cops are worthless, it took them 2 hours to get to the wreck.. WTF... what if somone was hurt?!

anyways my day has sucked...

FL police are too busy setting up speed traps on I-95 every other 1/2 mile.

Sucks to hear, but it happens to the best of us. My whole rear end was fuked up for a while after a girl in someone else's Accord hit me, which rammed the bumper up, crushing the reinforcements, throwing the trunk out of alignment, and it punctured the bumper. $1800 in damage.

Thats what scares me about having a car with a low market value and high parts price.. Im sure it wouldnt hardly take anything for my Q45 to be totaled......

Heres a mustang OWN3D, and on this website his car ended up getting totaled....

Sorry MM. That sucks big time.

Go to the dealership or a custom shop for that "high" estimate.

Ouch that sucks. He was probably on his cell phone ordering parts from Jegs. Is he paying for it or do you have to go through your insurance? Nick

Man that sucks.

It is so frustrating to hear that kind of shiznit. People do not understand that driving isn't a privelege, it is an art.

If I were to ever become president, traffic reform would be on my mandate. For starters I would instantly prohibit females from operating a motor vehicle without going to driving school or being my personal intern for a week or so, depending when I am finished with them. But to be fair, a large amount of males can't drive either, just not as many as the biotches of the world.

Sorry MM. I think the self-insured part has something to do with him posting a bond to the DMV in the value of the minimum liability requirements...say $35k? So the good news is it sounds like he's got a lot of cash. The problem is I don't know how you go about getting it. Seems like there should be a way for you to lay a claim for the damages and freeze the bond till he pays up. Or something like that. Where's Jesda? Isn't he in law school?

damn sorry to hear that your car got hit my an IROC :( But please dont hate on IROCs I love that car and if I can find another good condition one, I would pick it up again. 1 Question tho... how badly was the IROC damaged? Im guessing not alot coz those cars are built strong like a mofo.

Beautiful.

Anyway, MM, sorry about the car, and I think your high estimate idea would only be a oh-so-slight bend in morals, rather than a total break :D.

Sorry about the accident. Did you get a real estimate on what it'll cost? I'd skip the inflated estimate stuff, as that'll guarantee it'll get totalled. Best bet is to keep the insurance companies out of the picture altoghether. If the guy is self insured, he's obviously got some cash. And if the estimates are reasonable, he may just pay it. Good luck

the number is 55K. Doesn't have to be in cash, usually they are just assets the person owns. Good luck getting ur car fixed, that sucks.

Man that sucks, luckily your car shouldn't be totalled for 2k worth of damage though. Not that it matters I guess cause of the wholeself insured thing. I was told my car had to have more than 2300 dollars woth of damage befor they would total it. Quite relieved I was.
