Sounds like a flawed archaic system to me.I have spent many hours intently watching the refining process on the Discovery Channel, I understand that it's a complex and time consuming process and the cost per unit is still relatively low. It just seems like as the news of continuously increasing record profits they are trying to gouge us one last time before the inevitable switch to alternative fuels.Sentientbydesign wrote:They adjust prices based on the cost of the next shipment. I know what you mean. They ask me sometimes you heard bla bla bla...SteveTheTech wrote: Here in DC it's everywhere and you have to stay in touch to an extent to be able to retain a conversation with people. I cannot wait to move.
Awdjdmtalon... I may have seen you around Lynchburg... I go to Liberty and am out driving pretty much everyday.awdjdmtalon wrote:Steve. Which dealer do you work at in Alexandria? I live like 3 hrs south of you in Lynchburg. The closest dealers are in Richmond or Chantilly. Would be nice if I had any warranty issue to know a tech at a dealer.
Thats what all my friends w/ VW/Audi's do w/ me. (I'm a VW tech)
Lol true, i love how things are going right , middle east screwing us over (google dubai in year 2000, then 2008), then there's the weakend us dollar, and ever since katrina came by oil companies jack their prices up (price gouging at its finest) just because a large rain storm is coming, basically im speechless, oil executives take us as morons (but the thing they haven't realized yet is they can't bulls*** a bulls***er) and they use hurricanes as an excuse to raise prices, im just getting tired of itTampa G35 Sedan 6MT wrote:Katrina was the first... before that the middle east didn't know the power they had over our economy!
Im just going to run him over with my Benz like that woman that was on tv for running her husband over with the daughter in the car!S13_love wrote:if i ever meet a oil executive... he is going to get the a$$ kicking of a lifetime
wow thats pretty messed up, but yeah i'll do that too, video it and put it on youtube and get praised for it, then after im done running the executive over i'll ask him to define irony or something witty like that ...but honestly i know they have been making record profits (money left over after expenses) for the past 3+ years, but what will be enough for them? i personally want them to tell me what necessity meansTampa G35 Sedan 6MT wrote:

She ran him over like 10 times!
That's just amazing, I didn't know that the number was so low. It seems like a downside of the free market. Most products follow normal supply and demand, not gas though. Supply goes "down" (either actually or theoretically) price goes up, demand drops as it has over the first three quarters this year and prices stay high. I don't get it.Tampa G35 Sedan 6MT wrote:Oh my GF's brother works for BP on an oil rig and he said all the oil that they pull out of the gulf goes to the reserves! only 13% of what they get goes to be used for the public!....
