I finally made it back on from Pensacola late Sunday night with a Q45 in tow.

Special thanks to SurfinGator for the car and his help in loading her up.

She has some minor cosmetic damage to the right rear quarter and front bumper, but nothing too difficult to fix.

She was wearing a bra , but it came off first chance I got.

(Forgot who was looking for one, but if you still want it, its free)

For anybody looking to use a Uhaul car hauler to transport a Q, it will NOT clear the ramps easily if it is LOWERED.

I shaved some paint off the rails and stripped the plastic covering the fuel lines off the undercarriage while loading her onto the trailer.

(Nothing serious, just a little paint & plastic)

It took almost 8 hours nonstop with the Q in tow to get from Pensacola to Gainesville. (Far too long for my tastes)

All in all, Thanks to SurfinGator, I got to save an early Q45 from the junk/salvage yard.

I plan on keeping her on the road til I'm too senile to drive.

After all those articles its understandable

OverheatedWater in OilHood dented/Emblem FUBARKnock Sensors BadOriginal GuidesBad Hoses Under PlenumFront Bumper needs re-paintingDeep Scrape in right rear quarterTires wornGlovebox halfway brokeHeadlamp switch needs replacingFront seats starting to crack a little

Plus the paint work damage to the frame rails from the Uhaul trailer.

She just needs some TLC, a rebuild and a tune-up................all of which are in progress.

what did you use to pull the trailer with? just curious as the trailer from U-haul weighs 2,000lbs and then 4,000lbs with the car so you must have had a decent sized large truck/suv

I'm going to plead the fifth on that one

(Lets just say, it was big enough, but should have been bigger)

next time you need a hand in towing...call me. I did not just buy my Titan for nothing and this baby can pull about 9,500lbs. Hell...I grew up right down the road from Pensacola in Destin, FL and went to FSU (don't hold that against me) and could have visited the family and at the same time delivered a q45 to your door step. I am heading up there sometime in the next couple of weeks so if you got something else look me up.Always happy to help out another Q owner...although I am kind of in a transition/withdrawl symptom stage having sold my Q.

I bought the Titan so that I could easily tow my 69 vette if $hit ever happens and I need to do so. Plus I got weekend projects that I need to do for my condo. HomeDepot here I come.

btw...congrats on saving the Q.

Thanks! I didn't even consider asking anyone else on NICO since there aren't a lot of members near me.(I didn't even consider asking you since you're all the way down in Miami)

I actually spent the majority of the weekend in Destin, right across from the Bass Pro Shop.

The Titan is a really nice truck, unfortunately most of the country folk around here stick mainly to domestic trucks.

Whats the story with the Q? (I know you sold yours)Are you just waiting for the withdrawal symptoms to pass or are you taking a temporary relieve like Jesda?

yeah...I know exactly where that is. I grew up less than 1 miles directly toward the Gulf of Mexico on the other side of hwy 98.

Back home they definitely like the domestic trucks and I almost bought a Ford Harely crew cab but got frustrated not being able to find a decent one owner that had not been molested.

The Q is sold as I did recieve a huge deposit on it this past week. I have put a newer set of all black powder coated 350Z wheels on it since it I no longer had the other wheels and have taken care of a few other items for the new owner to make it more maintenance free such as a fresh oil change and getting the car fully detailed today. I packed it up tonight with all the extra parts (trunk is very full with stuff even I did not remember that I had until I cleaned out my closet) and now it will rest peacefully for the next couple of weeks awaiting for its new owner. I am really happy it is going to a NICO member so I can check back and hear all the good kill stories of it on the highway terrorizing somebody who once thought that they were really fast compared to the Q.
