So far I've been running my Z with Pennzoil & Dura Lube as an additive. It runs great w/ the Dura Lube. What do you guy's think? I see that at least 95% of the owners tote Mobil 1.

Last I read, Dura lube had States Attorney Genreals and the FTC after it for false advertising.

The sum of it is, if you have the correct oil, you don't need additives. They are already present.

I use Penzoil in my Sentra, but only because it has had that since it was purchased in 1993. Otherwise I only use Castrol GTX. No additives, no 'high mileage', no synthetics. I also change my oil in all three vehicles every three months no matter what.

I have tried them all, I was Castrol GTX guy for many years, then moved to Mobile one. I moved to Red Line for awhile but I am 100% Amsoil now.

The reason I think Amsoil makes a difference is in my 1984 300ZX it is the only oil I run that gets rid of my cold tapping noises at startup.

I have always viewed Penzoil as crap, I have seen several studies that showed it as one of the worst oils on the market. That said if you replace it on the right intervals your probably fine.

I only put 1.5k or so per 6 months on my 3 cars so I use red line or Amsoil as I have confidence in leaving that in for 6 months and the color of the oil is perfect when I change it. There is no doubt that Mobile One, Red Line, SynTech, Amsoil are better then Dyno-Jiuce, but if your doing it every 3 months or 3k then the benefits are probably not that dramatic.....but then again it only costs a little bit more (I get Amsoil for $9.95 per quart) and when I take it to my personal mechanic to have the service done, it is nearly break even from the Quaker state or whatever they pour.

Oh, and stop using that additive crap...it is crap.

I've used nothing but Mobil1 in everything I own since the mid 80s.Including my lawn mower!

What convinced me was using it in my dirt bike transmissions when I wasracing. With Mobil1 it took a lot longer before shifting and clutch actionstarted to deteriorate. Dirt bike transmissions hold very little oil and beatthe crap out of it.
