pending code, not erasing.

I had cleared the codes on my 97 nissan 240, stock ka. The code is for the egr vent circuit, and is the only one still pending. The thing that has me wondering, is its been 150 miles since the code was cleared and pending and still no CEL. Why is it taking so long to clear? Any help would be great.....I need to drive this car!! Prethanks, Nico

it might not be fulfilling all the criteria to set off the light..sometimes a pending code will stay in the computer if your emissions system is only partially failing a certain test or parameter (ie: its only setting the code every other start, or it only happens once every 50 miles..). if its not setting the light, and your mileage is fine, i wouldn't worry about it on such an old car.
