smockers- I agree with you 100% on wanting four seasons but you've fallen for the media sensationalism of the fires and the earthquakes.
99.9% of us are totally unaffected by the fires other than some reduced air quality for a few days. Even the big firestorms you've been hearing about this year are 300-600 miles away from here. It's an awfully big state.
The damage area from an earthquake is usually much smaller than and straight-line directed like a tornado. Add to the fact that we only get one about every 8-10 years and they're no big deal.
