I hear this is a common problem, but it annoys the hell out of me. I can see that the little pannel will come right off, but I don't really know anything about body work. What are some good ways to fix this?

how much do you want to spend?

if that is the only place where it is peeling then I would prep and paint it myself. It is not that big of an area. However keep in mind that once done that area will looker 'newer' then the rest of the car.

for best reslults paint in a dust/lint free area that is well ventilated and keep the overspray to a minimal.

Minimal spending. I only really want a temporary fix until I can get a full paint job. I want to do it myself, but don't know the proceedure/equipment. I figure now would be the best time to learn since the area couldn't look much worse and the whole car is worth $2200.

You could find a car in the junkyard in the same color and get those little panels.
