Peeling Paint on Front Bumper

Ok I have an 08 G37s (Red)coupe and I took it to the car wash last week. When it came out it was missing some of paint front left lower of the bumper. Three areas the biggest being about an inch and a half long by an inch wide. The car wash is trying to tell me it is a defect in the paint and to take it to the dealer. Has anyone else had an issue with the self healIng paint they used on the 08's?

The '08's used the scratch guard paint but I have not heard of any issues like this. I have RockGuard on mine so high pressure spray never hits the paint. Infiniti is going to claim it was the car wash.

Thanks for the post. I plan On taking to the body shop next week to get their input on it and a quote for repair. This really sucks.

I had to have my 05 coupe front bumper repainted for the same reason...after that, the aftermarket paint held up MUCH better than OEM

Man, glad I read this. I just got my 2009 G37 Sedan (Black) a month ago. I went to a spray wash, and was washing the bugs off after a trip from Dallas to Houston and about 4-5 areas peeled off!

I assume the place I bought it (Got a great deal and car is in GREAT shape), likely touched up these paint chips and "peelings", and when I washed it with the higfh pressure, I just peeled what was already under there. i imagine it was a combination of already being there and some new damage that started from the initial dammage.

I was going to get touch up paint from dealer (know it won't look GREAT), but it will be way better than now, because it shows through WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man I am pissed. Worst case, I'll have to take it to a body shop and paint the entire bumper, so it sucks, but it CAn be fixed.
