Heya, I hope Im not the only one with this problem!

When I push in the clutch, it has to go nearly to the floor before I change gears?

Question : Is there a rather simple way to make the gas/brake/clutch of my S13 a little more firm? like not have to press it in so far - pretty much a Hair Trigger System for pedals :D

Thanks team!

adjust your clutch pedal.

your brake pedal? change the fluid and replace the lines for stainless.

your gas? uh, haven't heard anyone ask to get that more firm but I suppose you could always change the spring on the throttle body for something stiffer. Lord knows why you'd want to do that though...

Cool, I have been reading up on these clutch tightening things but I cant seem to find the right one

Some people say its a cord, others say its a twisting nut, some say its a couple bolts and other stuff

89 240sx? How would I tighten up the clutch pedal?

As for the gas, I would only want to make that firmer - like so I dont have to push it in as far!

pull the clevis pin out of the clutch pedal and you'll see a U shaped bracket from the master cylinder to adjust your pedal.

you can adjust the gas pedal's travel at the throttle cable. you'll see where the cable meets up to a bracket that holds the cable in place at the intake manifold. Adjust the length of that part of the cable from the bracket to the throttle pulley to change the amount of travel your pedal has.

When adjusting the clutch, you may want to undo the two bolts in the engine compartment that hold the clutch master cylinder in place. If you don’t your gonna have a hard time getting the U-shaped end off the clutch pedal.

Another note on clutch firmness, if you really want to bump it up, you can get rid of the clutch dampener box. To do this you should disconnect the flexible hose leading from the slave cylinder from where it hooks up with the hard line coming out of the box. Then disconnect the inbound hard line from the master cylinder to the dampener box. Now remove the two bolts holding the box in place and slide it out.

Next is the tricky part. You have to bend the hard line from the master cylinder over so that it will hook up with the flexible hose attached to the slave. If your careful you can do this by hand. Gently bending the line around to a good spot without crimping it. Once it's in place you'll have to take the slave cylinder off to make the connection. (two bolts) This will allow you to spin the hose up onto the hard-line. Once it's snugged down tight you can hook the slave cylinder back up and your done...
