Okay I think I might end up with a 1990 fastback, ka24E. I've tried searching, and I can't seem to find the answers all in one place, or either there are different answers.

1.) On a 1990 Ka24e what are the free mods?

From what I've read, some emissions can be removed: egr, aiv, but what else? Is there one called the BPT right? What is that and how do you remove it? Also for the EGR whats the resistor trick, or how do you avoid the ecu problems. Plan on runing testpipe/race cat, so is the ecu still a concern?

2.) Do 1990 automatic KA24e IM come with secondary butterfly in them.

3.) Anyone know of a how to for transmission cooler install?

I'll keep searching, but if any of you have an answer I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Thanks

Also when removing the AIV and EGR, are there any mods you have to make to a header if installing one?

its a good thing he has a dohc...

a transmission cooler will be pointless unless your plan on racing the hell out of it.. and by judging from your post you just barely going to modify it..and dont forget if you have emission laws in your state, you will more then likely fail if you remove all the emission stuff..removal of the secondary butterfly is hardly worth the time and the money you "might" have to spend into getting a new intake gasket if you manage to mess yours up....there is a plug right above where you air filter that you can unplug for a little more kick on the shifting of you car...and take out all of the crap in your car that you dont want or need.. if you ac is busted take it off and remove the belt...if you kno what you are doing you can remove the crank pully and take it apart and remove the dampener on it...im sure there are plent of things im missing..but have fun with those

Well with the cooler I dunno? I do plan on other mods like header, exhaust, bolt-on stuff. Am I serious enuff to port the head or get a cam, well no.

Won't say I would be hard on the car all the time, but Im no granny either, so it's hard to say.

Thanks guys for replies, always helps a newcomer lol

Hey thought of some more questions unfortunately.

1.) Do you take the bpt valve off as well when you remove the egr, because I heard they're related, so I figure you gotta remove them both.

2.) If there are any sensors or wires to these what do you do with them after removal.

3.) Alright, when doing AIV removal there's suppose to be a hose or pipe that goes to the exahust manifold that you plug. Is this for both egr and AIV, cause I saw on one thread they had aiv/egr.

And since you do away with stock ex manifold when installing a header, where do you plug up on the header and how many locations,

Sorry for being a pest but this egr seems to be scattered around on the motor. BTW I think I got the resistor info for egr removal taken care of.
