My sister wants a PDA for her birthday (sunday) and my dad keeps asking me for suggestions. Ive never owned one or even looked into buying one so I'm clueless.Any suggestions as to what brands or features to look for? Is palm OS better than the Windows OS? Any forums or review sites would be helpful too.My Dad saw a Compaq ipaq for $350 today. I think thats the price range he's interested in.

Thanks

Palm OS is easier to use and get organized with, MUCH easier. PocketPC has a few more multimedia features and basically puts a Windows PC in the palm of your hand.

Since I already have a PC at home, I stick with Palm. Its easier to use and hardware is usually cheaper. A Palm computer will also play movies and music just like the PPC. Lots of accessories and software for both platforms.

It MOSTLY comes down to which interface you find easier to use.

I recently bought a Palm Zire 72 but was disappointed with it. Ive owned Palm's before and a few years ago switched to Pocket PC (h1910) and then went looking for a new one about a month ago, ended up with the Palm. The Zire may have been the wrong choice for me since I mostly use a PDA for buisness apps and all the Zire's come across as a toy to me.

Well, long story (too late), I ended up with an HP rx3115 PPC and have been lovin it ever since. I guess Ive grown use to PPC and cant ever switch back to Palm. The HP is on sale for $349 in most stores right now.

Hope that helps.

My Dad went to check out the Palm Zire 72 and Tungsten E.That HP 3115 is the first one my Dad looked at. We're gonna start with some cheaper and let my sister decide to upgrade if she needs more.MY sis is an attorney and she wants something to help with scheduling and appointments. I dont think she needs web or email access. Just something to sync with her office PC.

Thanks guys...
