well, while i was removing the head on my ka24de when i figured i would change the pcv valve as well. well i found the valve and when i followed the hose to see where it connected to, this is what i found:

this is the part of the hose that was left connected to the pcv valve. one end goes normally into the valve head, while the other end seems to have been cut off. the thing is, there is no evidence under my hood or around the area of a corresponding hose that should have connected it. is it vital for this hose to be attached. and if so where would i connect it to ?

its part of emissoins. recirculates exhaust gasses, so it goes from the head/intake mani to the header.

pcv dumps the excess pressure from the engine and that's about it. looks like you're in need of a new hose buddy.

Most pcv (Positive Crankase Ventilation valve) are connected to the valve cover and straight to a good vacuum source so you have to find where it was connected to. Pcv basically recirculates crankcase emissions back to the intake. Good luck.
