about to setup my catch can and have 2 questions

1) since its just oil and air can i run some plastic lines from homedepot

and

2) do they have to be that big or can i use an adapter near valve cover, intake manifold and intake tube to size them down?? will a decrease in size matter that much

Do whatever you have! Size is not a major issue in this particular case .
