I'm working on the pcv valve on the drivers side, the other side of the hose is connected to a metal elbow and while i was pulling the hose out the elbow just popped out, its not threaded, is it really just held in with the pressure from the hose or should there be something else there holding it in? also theres no o ring, does it need a gasket of some sort? thanks

Should be a spring-type hose clamp that "holds it on." They don't really hold anything all that snug. Easy to yank off. Clamp is probably still on the other end.

It's fine. I freaked out the first time mine popped out. You can actually use that to your advantage in some situations. Just pop it back in when you're ready.
