get a TV/tuner card for your comp. it'll allow your computer to double as a tv monitor. you can either buy a stand alone tuner card or get a combo card where the tuner is incorporated into a vid card. ATI makes a good one called the All In Wonder, but it can get pretty expensive

VGA Adapter - Let's you use a monitor without a computer. You will need PC speakers for audio output.

TV Tuner Card - Computer needs to be turned on. You will need an RCA type speaker or get some kind of RCA adapter so you can use the input from the tuner card. It lets you record the video to your computer.

Cheap TV that's at least 25" or bigger.

Here's my take on this. I had a VGA adapter for my dreamcast and it wasn't fun playing on my 17" monitor at all. It was actually more like 14" since that was the most the adapter could handle. I also have a tuner card but it's even worst than the VGA adapter in terms of playing video games. A vga adapter or tv tuner card might work if you have a monitor larger than 21" and a properly set up computer audio system with all the necessary audio adapters. Otherwise, just get yourself a cheap tv because I guarantee that you will not enjoy playing in front of your monitor for a certain period of time. Just imagine waiting for you computer to start up everytime you want to play video games...

yeah stillmatic and I have had pretty similar experiences from what I can see about the vga adapters. Got one for my ps2 and yeah it sucked. The resolution was limited on the one I had to 800x640 and I was hoping for 1024x768.

The new all-in-wonder vid cards'll run you plenty (200+ for the 9600 models, 300+ for the 9800 models) that are also using the new 4x/8x size agp size. You'll more likely than not also have to upgrade your motherboard to accomodate unless you've gotten your comp fairly recently so that's another hidden cost of getting a new vid card unless you decide to go with one of the older models.

Along the same lines. I have a ps2 and I have broadband in my home, just nowhere near the ps2. My computer in my room is hooked up wirelessly. How can I make it work.

they are complete junk. I did the exact same thing with it and ended up getting rid of it at a loss. stay away from ATI tuner cards that are not built into the video card itself.

Get a WAP (wireless access point-- basically a wireless ethernet jack)You can use it to hook a printer up to your wireless network. So I guess you could get one and just hook up your PS2. But I wonder if your PC and PS2 can share a network...

The resolution of a TV is usually below 800 * 600...

I'll give it try and let you know if it works. I hope it does.
