i just got an e-mail saying that someone has started a class action lawsuit against paypal. If you signed up for an account between oct. '99 and Jan '04 you can be apart of the lawsuit.goto https://www.paypal.com/settlement/

in all reality...paypal has screwed over quite a few people. There is even a website dedicated to this... http://www.paypalsucks.com

So you might get some money out of this...maybe only $5.00, but who knows....

Moderaters, i just wanted everyone to know about this, since we are an internet community, and as such, many of us use paypal on a daily basis.

if you just signed up, you shouldn't have to worry. They got sued for their business practices, which according to that letter they have already changed. That is why new customers are not part of the lawsuit, because the problems were during a certain period.

Honestly, I don't use paypal much, but I have used it and have never had a problem. That may be because they had started making changes around the time I started using it.

I am not defending them, but my experience has not been bad.

Yeah i got it to. I think my account is in that period... I hope they dont close because paypal is one of the biggest, most secure (i thought) ways to pay people.

yeah; i did received the email too.... "the lawsuit claims that PayPal did not provide account statements in the manner required by the EFTA. The lawsuit further alleges that PayPal has placed inappropriate restrictions or other limits on customers' accounts and engaged in other improper practices"...and more

I'm in the time frame but I think that I'll leave well enough alone. As far as I can see Ihaven't lost a significant sum of money over this and I don't feel that it is my place to chase after their money. Has anyone here actually lost money through their service?

VISA bit the bullet and ended up crediting my card, so maybe some bigger companies will be going after paypal as well.

I got the email also and never had a prob... They even shut down my last account due to "suspicious spending" althought it was all my spending on parts for my car... guess they though it was weird seeing me spend like 6 g's within a couple weeks
