i gotta prob. i made a deal with a guy on 240sxforums.com for a set of brand new megan racing coilovers for 775. i just sent out $775 through paypal to the guy 2 days ago. i waited all yesterday for a reply from him, but no answer.

i know some of you guys have been in my situation before. i've never really sent out this much money out before, so i'm kinda sketchy, usually i get all my parts locally. any inputs or comments would very much be appreciated. thanks.

Did money go out from your checking account or credit card? Well, either way don't worry too much. I sent $200 to eBay seller in England. The deal went bad, but I was able to get my money back. It took about 3 months though. Process is slow, but you will get it eventually, so be patient. I can see that you were trying to save few bucks, but you know what? Sometimes few bucks don't matter. Buy from reputable shop with right money, be done with it and you can have peace. You know what I mean?

Yes, I did that and bank was able to recover the money, but what happened was Paypal took the money from my bank again. It was automated that way with Paypal. So it's better go through Paypal than bank. If you paid with credit card, you can go through Paypal claim or credit card chargeback. Just call Paypal. Everyone I talked to was very kind and helpful.

it's been 2 days!

omg. at least give the guy a couple weeks.

You can file for a paypal refund w/in 45 days... then there is the sticky on the FOR SALE section on what to do if you think you are getting scammed.

But damn man, it's been 2 freaking DAYS! That's not a long time. Not everyone checks their mail religiously 315 times a day.

cool thanks guys. i feel relieved. yea of course i'm going to give him more time, i haven't filed a complaint or anything. i'm just concerned because i haven't done this before and wanted to know your guys' experiences.

i don't get what u guys are saying about the bank of america thing. my bank is called octfcu, it's a bank for teachers and invites only, does that make a difference?

I know what you mean but... when you receive $775 from someone, at least you should send out a confirmation email saying that money was received and coilover will be in the mail soon. Man... I wouldn't feel comfortable if I don't get any reply. If he runs business, yes, you should definitely give him some more time. If he's a private seller, I would think something's up. Anyway, don't worry too much. I hope you get your coilovers soon.
