The transmission is left standard, so far, & yes he is running what we call LPG (Liquified Petrolium Gas) but I'm unsure if it's the same as Propane in the U.S. (I think it is...

)
I actually met the guy at the Sydney Motor Show & he was giving us a ride in the Lexus 4wd around a test track, & the conversation got around to vehicles we drive & then he stopped in the parking bay for 1/2 an hour talking about how good these Q45 engines were. He just can't believe how strong & well these engines are built & how little anybody knows about them. (here in Australia)I hope to make regular contact with him, & bounce some ideas off him.
He has a friend who also has a Q45 engine & has fabricated a Manual Box to fit it. It was a backyard job & there are no jig's etc to reproduce it & I can't remember what vehicle he had it in, but I'm sure it was another 4wd...? (I will find out in a few weeks when he gets back home)
He took the sump off the Q45 engine & rang all his mates to come over & check it out & just show them how weak the Lexus motor was next to it...he was impressed!!!He has just imported another 5 motors for various projects, so it may be a bit of fun keeping in touch with him.
