had a weird intermittent vibration for the longest time that got noticably worse until last night when it felt like a wheel was about to come off..got out on the highway and all the lugs are tight. this morning driving into work i pulled into the parking lot and the pedal went almost to the floor and the brake light came on. no fluid leaking anywhere and the level is still close to max. so i had to suck it up and take it to the dealership cause im not about to be fixin all that when the high temp is 12f. ill let yall know what they say tomorrow.

and the verdict is...bad wheel cylinder in rear, needs brake job, alingment, control arm bushings, repack wheel bearings

How many miles on it?I'm at 180,000 Kms, and still on original rear brakes. Front brakes only done once.I'm also still on my original front end and suspension, and never had it aligned. It still runs straight with no uneven tire wear or vibration.I'm beginning to think I'm pretty lucky with this truck.

73500 miles which is apx 118000 km. part of it was the fact that the lady before me hit a curb with it..probably causing the alingment issue. he also said that the front brakes were aftermarket ones, and cheap ones at that. they didnt have any shims in there which caused them to rattle around in the caliper and destroy them, coulda had something to do with the rotors being warped, maybe not..he wasnt sure. as far as the backs go, a wheel cylibder blew and shot brake fluid all inside of the drum, he said they could either clean them up or just do a brake job on the back since it was torn apart, i elected to go ahead and get it done because i had them replace the wheel cylinder on the other side too. figured the back brakes would eventually need it so i went ahead and got it done cause i didnt wanna deal with it in the future.

the tires are junk too, probably still have 30000 miles left but i was driving it home friday night and it started vibrating again..took it back saturday and the guy thought i was out of my mind. i told him to take it on the highway, sure enough he comes back and says something still isnt right. took the tires off and went to balance them like they did friday and he comes back saying how a tire was out of balance but he swears up and down he balanced all 4 the day before. sure enough i get it back on the highway and its smooth for 5 miles or so and the vibration comes back. when i got home i called him back and he says it has to be a tire that wont stay balanced, likely due to a separation in the tire.
