Pathy ate a butterfly from intake ,where did it go???

Went to do the thread locker as pm and 2 screws 1 plate are gone. I have not owned the truck long and only put 6,000km on it but it runs great and has never made any odds sounds under the hood or ran off, so safe to say at some point this happened while the po had it. So my question is 1/ can the butterfly get into a cylinder and 2/ anybody wanna guess how far i need to tear into it to find it? Im going to assume the screws went through long ago but the plate????

The plate may have ended up on top of another plate, but since you presumably put thread locker on the remaining screws already you would've seen it. I don't think a plate would get very far if it managed to fall through the manifold. The screws hopefully passed without issue if you are not experiencing oil consumption or emissions issues.

Ya i looked for it town and i did put lock on the rest. I saw a post a while ago showing 3 missing butterflys and they recovered them but i forget where they found them. I couldnt take the lower intake off since i didnt have a 12mm socket deep enough and need my truck so i put it back together short a butterfly. Im waiting to hear from the po to see if he recalled it making noise or running bad so maybe i can get a mile marker for when it may have happened. The only way it happened since ive owned is if the screws/plate are still up high and have not made it to a cylinder yet. Like you said im hoping the screws went through already, from what i recall reading i dont think the butterfly can make it too far in. I almost puked when i saw the plate gone the truck is in fantastic shape and i have done all fluids etc and want run a long time,we will see i guess?
