Pathfinder won't shift past 2nd or into reverse

Hey guys, I have a 2003 Path with ~75000 miles. Problem is the trans won't shift past 2nd gear or into reverse, but this only happens when the truck is cold. This is a major PITA since I always have to park facing OUT or risk getting stuck until it warms up enough to engage reverse. Has any one heard of this issue? I checked the fluid and the level is ok and it smells normal.

When was the fluid last changed?

I'm not sure but it worked fine when i bought it at 62K miles. Should i change the fluid and hope for the best?

Yes, try a drain & fill with Valvoline MaxLife ATF. A drain & fill takes about 4 quarts (one gallon).

Ok I'll work on that along with with the leaking oil cooler
