Pathfinder Timing Chain

I'm replacing the timing chains and guides on my 03 Pathfinder and I'm at the point where I need to lock the flywheel in place to ensure the pistons stay where they need to be, online says I need a J-48761 which goes for ~$150 but I'm seeing 'universal' locking tools on eBay and am wondering if anyone has used one of these with success or if I need to bite the bullet and buy the recommended one.
