im having a hard time finding detailed information on how to swap out my 4th gen tb with a pathfinders tb. I already wasted my time porting the damn thing only to realize that it was in vain. What i need to know is has anybody personally done this? I hear alot of talk yet there are no threads in the faqs and even other websites stickys connect u to something barely even about the topic. I need to know:what year pathfinder throttle body is used for the swap?

Do you need adapter plates and if so where do you get them?

What is the diameter of the pathfinder throttlebody compared to the maxima?

what kind of gains are expected?

Do you need to swap out the flex tube leading to the throttlebody?

And finally, where is a cheap place to get it and is it worth it?

Please dont guess or make assumptions im pretty much looking for solid facts from talented people. Thank you~

PF TB is 70mm and the cheapest place to get it is from car-parts.com I got mine off an 01 for my 3.5 for $125 shipped after some haggling. Gains aren't huge...mostly throttle response.

Sorry, don't know the answers to your other questions

i'm told it's not worth it if you're n/a and maybe you can find an adapter plate but the ones i've seen were home made.

i would give you a link but the mods would probably get upset...quotes are harmless though, right

"4th gen TB is 60mm an pathy TB is 70mm and you'll feel a difference. They don't bolt up togetter, so I suggest to pm stephenmax for a TB adaptor plate. I did it and it fit like eom, trust me.

edit: BTW, I found out that the 2001 Infiniti QX4 TB fit better, cause it is a bit smaller from the outside."

"if you don't have mevi or 00vi, will you notice a difference with the larger throtttle body?"

"I dont see how you felt a difference. Most dont. Even us boosted guys. Im sure it helps, but only in the upper RPMS where us boosted guys begin moving a lot of air.I have my MEVI port matched to my PF TB and I still cant say theres noticable gains. I wouldnt even think theres much for an NA motor to gain from it at all."
