Has anyone had their vehicle deemed unrepairable without excessive rust or holes inside the driver's side wheel well? I ask because I do not have the visible symptoms associated, but am having some driving issues with grinding and wheel vibration that could be attributed to strut issues. Recall work is scheduled for next week, wondering what to expect....Thanks

From what I've inferred from the recall TSB, only scab corrosion or perforation of the strut housing will result in your R50 being condemned, but that isn't necessarily explicit.

FYI, just a heads up: There's a sticky at the top of this forum with about 14 pages of posts on the recall.
If you haven't had a chance to skim through it, I suggest you scan through it.
Makes for very good reading.
Update on my 2002 Pathfinder (Canadian truck with lots of winter salty driving): I took mine in a few weeks ago and they did the drivers side patch, and also cleaned up and rustproofed the passenger side, even though there was no real damage there. It was in for two days and I was very impressed with the work they did.
I was lucky in that I've been oil spraying my truck since I got it, and that seems to have saved my butt.
Good luck.
