Hey, does anyone know where I can get a Factory Service Manual for my '92 Pathfinder? To date, I've been using my Chilton manual (not great), my experience (pretty good) and these types of forums (excellent), but an actual FSM would be great.

I've seen them available online for later years, but not the '92.

Any suggestions?

Download the '94 manual and compare it to your Chiltons.1994 Pathfinder FSM http://phatg20.net/modules.php...d=321

You can also keep an eye out on ebay for a '92 specific FSM

1992 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW 1992 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

1990 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

Only buy hardcopy manuals off Ebay, the cd versions can be complete crap.

Thanks for the quick reply Man.

I downloaded the file and took a quick look. I don't have my Chilton manual in front of me, but I think this one is quite a bit better. Just took a quick look at the auto free-wheeling hubs and the diagrams seem much more involved than what the Chilton Manual has. And I think the 1994 will be pretty similar to the '92.

As far as buying manuals off of e-bay, I got a Chilton manual on CD for the Pathy. It's just an electronic copy of my hard copy.

Scored a full set of Chevy FS manuals for my '86 Silverado about a year ago - - absolutely sweet.

You're Welcome.

Chilton is a good book for someone who has never worked on cars or just starting out and doesn't have access to, (or know someone with), an FSM.

Maxnix has a link to a Nissan website that for $20 or $30 you can download to your hearts content for 24 hours. Only drawback is you need a fast internet connection.

I started out with a Chiltons manual for a Classic SE-R and was pleased with it til I snapped a crankshaft bearing cap bolt off into the block.(The torque listed in the Chiltons manual was WAAAAYYYY too high)

Thanks again man.

Spent part of my lunch hour taking a better look at the manual you linked me to. EXCELLENT so far. Read through the free-wheeling hubs diagnostic pages and I think I found the cause of a noise I'm experiencing...sweet.

Now I just have to buy a few reems of paper to print out a hard copy for my garage...

As for the Maxim site you refer to, have you seen access to 1992 service manuals. Like I said earlier, I've been to some similar sites and they always seem to have the next generation Pathy manuals, but not the 92.

No, Maxnix is another NICO member. zer...id=27

You'll have to ask him the details about the site.(It is an official Nissan website)

If I go there I might get manual happy and end up spending the weekend there downloading.

Ooops!!! That's a bit embarassing - - not only did I not know that, I called him "Maxim" - - - what was I thinking.

Anyway, this is great info. I'll have to check it out over the next little while. Actually heading away for Spring Break today. Making the trip from Winnipeg to Minneapolis MN (IKEA shopping). The hotel has high-speed internet, and I have a lap-top, so I can do a little forum surfing from time to time.

For now, your link helped alot. It already helped me find the 4wd indicator light switch in the transfer case. For the most part, I expect the 1992 and 1994 manuals will be pretty similar.

Thanks again.
