I have a 2001 QX4 that was in an accident and the whole rear bumper assembly was ripped off, I plan to get a new car soon I just need to get it street legal to drive. Does anyone know if a Pathfinder and QX4 reinforcement bar is the same?

And would the bumper cover from a 3.3 QX4 work on the 3.5? How about Pathfinder bumper? Doesnt have to match car will be sold for parts.

They seem to look the same...

Well to answer my own question everything is the same on atleast a 01+ (to my knowledge). Reinforcement bar bolts right up and a Pathy rear bumper cover will work on the Q (not perfect but works).

Ridiculous what the repair costs are for these things; this was my estimate:
850223w725 Bumper Cover $536 (Labor 1.5 Paint 2.8)
852241w300 RT Bracket $17.56
852251w300 LT Bracket $18.95
850303w700 Reinforcement $361.41
850403w700 Reinforcement Bracket $15.29
850902w100 Absorber (JUST A DANG PIECE OF FOAM STUFF ON THE REINFORCEMENT) $85.17!!
Subtotal $1042.75

Just hit the local pick and pull - 01 Pathfinder SE Reinforcement Bar with brackets and bumper cover silver $66. Gotta love fixed pricing at the local places. Here was the damage:

just be glad it was the rear and not the front... I did a QX4 swap to my Pathfinder. Bumper requires the fenders, fenders require the corner markers, markers require the headlamps, headlamps require the grill, and the grill requires the hood. So full swap. Then the fenders also beg for the running boards, which must have the rear flares and then the rear bumper cover is too narrow from a Pathfinder so the rear QX4 piece is wanted too.

What year is your Pathy? Could you have done a 01+ Q swap?

Yeah I could. The donor was a "cars for clunkers" turn in, and my dealer let me have my way with it. It was a 99 also.

I need a new front cover now. my son backed into it and squished the right bumper block and it's not repairable. So I'd like to find an 04 model cover with the uprated fogs and turn signals.

Do you mean 01-03 QX4 front bumper assembly?

Yeah unfortunately I wrecked the front and back....I pretty much glued the front back together with Amazing Goop and used self tapping screws to mount the bumper etc...meh it works when I bought the car the previous owner (crazy rich lady) let her kids SPRAY PAINT THE CAR for high school graduation and then USED GASOLINE TO GET THE SPRAY PAINT OFF. Long story short I got an 01 QX4 with 150k miles and brand new dealer transmission for 400 bucks so I could care less about the paint.

Anyways I smashed up the front end and filed a claim and insurance declared it a total loss so I got paid $3500 and got to keep the car. Payout was 4k - $500 for junk auction fee to keep the vehicle. Title is still clear so I just went to the junk to get the back bumper assembly.
