Pathfinder question?

I read through the reliability thread, but didn't see any Pathfinders with the miles on them like the one I've been looking at. I need a reliable vehicle, and I was offered a 94 pathfinder with 260k miles on it from a friend. He says it runs great and has been well maintained, but how many miles do these motors usually see before they start to lose it?

Being in Tennessee, it probably isn't all rotted out like ours are up north. That being said, my brother just junked his-frame rotted out of course-with 223K. 260K cannot be considered a reliable vehicle-maybe for short trips-10-15 miles at a time.

I wouldn't pay more than $500 for it. You might get lucky with it.
