Hi everyone

I have Pathfinder LE 2002 3.5V6

How hard is it to swap out the radiator? I already sketched the procedure and was happy to find out that the auto transmission uses it own little metal radiator so I will not be touching those lines, only 4 cooland lines, all rubber, all tied with regular screw-clamps.

Be it as it may tho, how hard is it to swap it out? And once swaped out mechanically speaking, what is the procedure for proper "bleeding" to ensure there are no air bubbles?

Anything else I dont even know about that I should?

Thanks~B

Im not certain on the VQ pathys but the autos in them run through the radiator and also an external cooler. But even if it runs through the radiator they are flexable lines so its way easy to get them off. Just disconnect the lower part of the fan shroud so it'll clear the fan (accessible through the bottom of the vehicle) and then disconnect both rad hoses and the (2) 10 mm nuts holding the top brackets. When this is all done it should slide right up while maneuvering it so the fan clears.

Thanks for the reply.

So IF it turns out that the transmission fluid does run through the radiator and I need to loose some transmission fluid during the swap out, how do I refill it? I know of the nutorious oil dip stick that has to do with engine oil NOT transmission fluid. Is there simmilar device for the transmission fluid?

Do I need to worry about air getting into the transmission fluid system?

ThanksB

Yeah there is a trans dipstick on the passenger side kinda towards the rear of the engine bay. No you dont need to worry about getting air into the system.
