My daughter has a 2005 Pathfinder and last night it wouldn't start. Found out that her husband had tried to start it with a passkey (will only unlock the doors). When she tried to to start it with a regular key it wouldn't crank I'm guessing because of the theft deterrent system. Someone where she works did something and got it to work. Just for future reference is there something I can do if this should happen again?Or was it just a matter of waiting a few minutes? Thanks!

I'm not familiar with the '05, but a lot of ignitions that take chipped keys will make you wait a few minutes if it didn't recognize the key used. My last car had this exact behaviour, you'd have to wait five minutes before you'd be able to start the car.

With my '03 Pathfinder, on the other hand, you can start the vehicle right away after trying a key with the wrong chip. So I guess they changed the behavior for the R51.
