My Pathfinder is getting terrible fuel efficiency?

I’m no lead-foot, burn mid-grade and only getting an average of about 200 miles per tank. My PF has 97k with recent coils, MAF unit, NKG plugs installed. No SES or rough idling. I don’t know what could possible by wrong and would appreciate any feedback from anyone with similar problem or fix. Still working on the engine squeal from earlier posting and got a can of belt dressing.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

How is your tire pressure? That can be a factor..What about excess weight, are you carrying around something that could be heavier than usual like a bike rack etc?

Sorry if this doesnt help

It's either 26 or 32 lbs, all around as per manufacturer, no excess weight.

I'd start by pulling the plugs. Dig up some info on the web about what color they should be.

Define terrible fuel efficiency. I get 13.6 in town, 15.4 in mixed driving, and 18 on the highway.

If he's only gettin' 200 miles to the tank, that's pretty nasty mileage. Somewhere around 11 - 12mpg.

OP: are your tires the stock size? If you upgraded to something different, 26 - 32 lbs could be pretty low depending on the tire.

And yeah, how much crap are you packing around on a daily basis? They're big drinkers anywhere, any extra weight's going to just knock down your mileage.

haha, this is exactly what I was thinking. I get pretty close to that, too. Usually around 13 in town and 17 mpg on the highway, but I tend to drive pretty fast.

To the OP, I would try filling, driving, refilling and calculate the miles per gallons used. Just saying "200 miles on a tank" doesn't say much. I think the fuel tank is 21 gallons, but when mine shows near the "E" it fills to only about 16 gallons. Around town only, that's about 12-13 mpg.

Have you put new tires on it recently? Specifically, ones with a more aggressive tread pattern or a slightly different size?

My snow tires are bigger and more aggressive and the mileage doesn't add up unless I recalculate it.
